A Moment of Silence for “CAR TALK” Tom Magliozzi

Tom Magliozzi

Millions of listeners will miss NPR’s folksy radio mechanic of “Car Talk”. Tom Magliozzi fell victim to the complications of Alzheimer’s at age 77, a disease which is not only stealing the lives of our loved ones— but beloved public figures. Tom and his brother Ray took stuffy, academic public radio and made it down to earth and accessible to a whole new audience. Listeners can go to car talk.com to share their memories online. This coming weekend a special version of the show is being produced where Ray will announce the news and share some of the great highlights of the program’s history. The Magliozzi family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or their local public radio stations in the memory of Tom.
